Will you travel to my destination wedding?
I would love to! Destination weddings are the best! I have photographed weddings throughout the US as well as internationally, and would love to travel to yours! Travel fees are applied in cities 50 miles outside of Duncan, SC.
Do you offer elopement packages?
Absolutely. Contact me about your elopement to get all the details! You will most likely need a customized package based on your location/coverage time.
We are awkward in front of the camera, help?
I always feel out your personalities, observe the ying & yang between you two and direct you step-by-step in posing that will work well. Everything will flow and there is no need to stress.
For the Wedding Day, do I need to give you a shot list?
Since I have done a few (hundred) of these weddings, I have a good idea of what needs to be photographed. So, you can just sit back and relax in this department. Having a specific shot list can be limiting and it prevents me from being in tune to the day and capturing events as they happen. I love being open and available to capturing the spontaneity of your day! The only shot list I will need from you is a list of the formal family photos you would like. I request that I receive this list about three weeks before your wedding with the final wedding day questionnaire I send out.
How do you feel about videographers and other photographers being at the wedding?
Videographer - awesome! I love those guys! If they are a professional, then it shouldn't be an issue at all. If they are a family member or a friend who does it as a hobby, be sure they chat with me on the day of the wedding to make sure we communicate what will make for the best photos and video so we aren't in the way of each other.
Other photographers - maybe not. When you hire me, I prefer to be the only photographer on site. It can cause problems and get congested with multiple photographers. So, it makes things easier on me and you if there is only one of us there. If you have family members who are photographers or "photographers" - they are welcome to shoot as much as they want, but just make sure they don't interfere with where I am shooting. I would hate to miss an important shot of you and your love due to Uncle Greg or Cousin Marcia standing in front of my camera to get their "perfect shot". (Sounds crazy, but it has been done before. Example... Right at the big kiss moment, the uncle stepped out in front of me in the aisle and blocked my shot. No joke. I threw some elbows to move him out of the way though… luckily, the bride + groom did a series of kisses to seal the deal. I highly recommend you do the same!)
Do you have a second shooter?
Most of my wedding packages do include an assistant, but larger weddings may always require a second shooter as well. We can discuss this to see what would be the best option for your wedding day.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
All retainers for weddings or photoshoots are non-refundable. Since I turn down work for your reserved date, I do not refund any amount paid up to the date you cancel your event or photo session.
Can I view a full wedding day example?
Yes! During the consultation I will showcase albums and explain how I went about shooting a particular clients. I can also email you a link to view a sample gallery of a wedding day so you are confident with what you will be receiving. TIP! If you are hiring a photographer don’t base the wedding day off of a few instagram highlights!
Why do clients generally book you?
Because they want to get some bomb photos, but also want to have a fun, memorable wedding day with their guests. Photo taking is not dreadful with me because I work around your personalities to make it a relaxed process. I am also organized and think ahead…I take time to customize a timeline because it is essential that the bride and groom are at ease and not worried about the getting the shots but trusting me with capturing everything beautifully while they focus on each other.
My approach to day-of wedding photography is to pose you in flattering angles (making you look your best and you're not awkward), but also taking time to get creative and unique photos for you and tell the overall story of your day. I get both candids and the formals and customize based on your timeline and preference (consultation is key).
As I have been doing this for years, working under the clock is of no match for me and I can be flexible if things need to be slightly moved around and can direct you (or groups) into positions quickly. As much as pretty pictures are *almost* the biggest thing about your wedding day, I think soaking up all the emotions and spending time with your guests is the most important.
